30th Annual Sacramento State Winter Jazz Festival
Saturday, December 11, 2021

The 2021 Sacramento State Winter Jazz Festival, open to Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Collegiate Jazz Ensembles, Jazz Combos, Vocal Jazz Ensembles, is a non-competitive, educational festival in that no scoring or rankings of bands are made or implied. Instead, our selected clinicians are simply on hand to provide constructive commentary through verbal feedback. Our festival revolves completely around one main concept: it is important that our young musicians are taught how to play jazz while enjoying the learning process through every means available.

The annual Winter Jazz Festival features performances by high school and junior college jazz bands, jazz combos, and vocal jazz groups, performing every half hour throughout the day in Capistrano Hall and the Student Union. The closing concert at 7:30pm in the University Ballroom of the Student Union features the Sac State Jazz Ensembles and special guest artist Wayne Bergeron.

PLEASE NOTE: all visitors to campus have to follow campus protocols in effect at the time of the event, which may include masks and/or social distancing protocols. The Festival Directors will reach out to all band directors with information closer to the Festival.

Our current policy is to require those over the age of two (2) who attend an indoor event on campus wear a suitable face‐covering (mask) while indoors.  Masks required, regardless of vaccination status.

***General Admission is $15***

There may be a Parking Fee.  Although none is stated, in 2019 the fee was $7.00
