31st Annual Sacramento State Winter Jazz Festival
Saturday, December 10, 2022

The 2022 Sacramento State Winter Jazz Festival, open to Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Collegiate Jazz Ensembles, Jazz Combos, Vocal Jazz Ensembles, is a non-competitive, educational festival in that no scoring or rankings of bands are made or implied. Instead, our selected clinicians are simply on hand to provide constructive commentary through verbal feedback. Our festival revolves completely around one main concept: it is important that our young musicians are taught how to play jazz while enjoying the learning process through every means available.

The annual Winter Jazz Festival features performances by high school and junior college jazz bands, jazz combos, and vocal jazz groups, performing every half hour throughout the day in Capistrano Hall and the Student Union. The closing concert at 7:00pm in the University Ballroom of the Student Union features the Sac State Jazz Ensembles and special guest artist Jeff "Tain" Watts.

***General Admission is $15***

Vehicles can be parked on the student side of Parking Structure #1, adjacent to Capistrano Hall. After students are dropped off, buses may park in Student Lot 8, or Faculty/Staff Lot 1. Please refer to the Sacramento State University map for locations. There is no charge for parking on the day of the festival in Parking Structure #1.
